Anmo is mainly for relaxation, which does not require long term training. While Tuina is more therapeutic, which requires special training in Chinese medical colleges or universities.
Tuina Chinese massage makes use of many different strokes or manipulations that are applied to acupoints, channels, muscle groups, and joints. Tuina is a combination of all massage styles including relaxation, deep tissues, acupressure, joint, or bone manipulations. Tuina methods include the use of hand techniques to massage the soft tissue (muscles and tendons) of the body, acupressure techniques to directly affect the flow of Qi, and manipulation techniques to realign the musculoskeletal and ligamentous relationships (bone-setting). External herbal poultices, compresses, liniments, and salves are also used to enhance the other therapeutic methods.

Most importantly, Tuina is good to combine with Qigong, which is a physical expression of the flow of Qi energy from one human being to another. When done with correct intent, the strokes and techniques stimulate an exchange of Qi energy between the practitioner and the patient, and this is the secret healing power of Qigong Tuina. It was called Anmo Daoyin in China in ancient time.
